On Monday, the first day of spring, we began a series of activities to celebrate the new season. Some activities have been completed already and others are still in progress. We have heard a rainbow story about Mrs. Andrews' weekend encounter with the leprechaun from Friday, which ended in a rainbow explosion. This lead to color strips being spread all over the classroom floor. Students had to choose a color and then went outside to find an object that matched their color. We went on to use this color and objects in our weekly writing process. On Monday, we found the color and object and did "think and talk" with a partner. On Tuesday, we drew the object. On Wednesday we wrote sentences about our color and object. On Thursday we will check our work and edit the sentences. On Friday we will publish and share our work from this week. We have also learned some spring yoga poses and listened to soothing music after Mrs. Andrews discovered "Garden Yoga for Kids." We even completed a spring morning work sentence on Monday and had a Spring Song sing along using Spring YouTube videos for kids. Spring is definitely exciting!
